A slight coloring. Specifically: (a) A pale or faint tinge of any color.
Or blend in beauteous tints the colored mass.

shades of scarlet are different tints. (c) (Engraving) A shaded effect produced by the juxtaposition

parallel lines which produce tints in engraving.
