An Austrian playwright; born in Konigsberg, Nov. 8, 1804; died at Vienna, Feb. 29, 1876. He went on the stage at 16, and rose rapidly to eminence. He wrote a hundred or so dramatic pieces of various kinds; "Theresa Krones" alone merits notice, the others being local and ephemeral.
