An American author; born in Dalton, Ga., July 5, 1858. Besides being a contributor to leading magazines he was at one time assistant editor of the Youth's Companion. Among his numerous works are "White Marie" (1889); "Almost Persuaded" (1890); "The Land of the Changing Sun" (1894); "The Caruthers Affair" (1899); "The Woman Who Trusted", (1901); "Westerfelt" (1901); "Ann Boyd".
