Havoc \Hav"oc\, n. [W. hafog devastation, havoc; or, if this be
itself fr. E. havoc, cf. OE. havot, or AS. hafoc hawk, which
is a cruel or rapacious bird, or F. hai, voux! a cry to
hounds.]
