The name of a plant, Eupatorium Guaco, described by Humboldt and Bonpland under the name Mikania Guaco, Ord. Composite, which grows in the valleys of Madalena, Rio-Cauca, &c., in South America. The negroes use the juice against the bites of poisonous reptiles ;-both in the way of prevention and cure. It has been, of late, brought forward as a remedy in cholera.
