This preparation, introduced into the last edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the United States, is prepared as follows: Liq. Calcii Chlorid. Ovss; Sodoe Carbonat. Ibvj; Aquoe destillat. q.s. Dissolve the carbonate of soda in six parts of distilled water; heat this and the solution of chloride of calcium, separately, to the boiling point, and mix. Wash the precipitate repeatedly with distilled water, and dry on bibulous paper. It has the same properties as creta praeparata, and is preferred to it in certain cases,-for example, as an ingredient in tooth powders, owing to its freedom from gritty particles.
