An American poet; born in East Bloomfield, Ontario County, N. Y., Oct. 19, 1835. Some of her war songs were very popular. She published: "Ulah and Other Poems" (1860); "Atlantis and Other Poems" (1866); and "A Prairie Idyl, and Other Poems" (1882); "Rubayat of Solomon" (1905).
