Acid potassium. carbonate, KHCO3; occurring as colorless transparent rhombic prisms or tablets, of saline but. not sharp taste, and soluble in water, almost insoluble in alcohol. It is usually prepared by passing carbon dioxid gas through a solution of the normal carbonate. It has been used as an antacid.
