An Arabic name for a species of melancholy in which the patient is never quiet at any one place, but wanders about here and there, see Cuttubuth. Also, the name of an insect, which lives at the surface of stagnant waters, and is in a constant state of agitation. Some lexicographers imagine that it is on account of this last circumstance, that the name of the insect has been given to the disease.
