The electricity induced in a conductor by a charge carried by a neighboring conductor, when the two are separated by a layer of air. As usually obtained, a galvanic current is sent into a coil of insulated wire, the primary coil, and the appearance or disappearance of the change in this coil induces a charge of high tension in a second coil, the secondary coil, brought near to it.
