T. obtained from Pistacia terebinthus; a thick, tenacious liquid of a greenish yellow color or a soft solid of a dull brown hue, with little taste, and of a peculiar pleasant, mildly terebinthinous odor. It consists of resin (probably the resin of mastic) and an essential oil which contains a little oxygenated oil.
