Benzoyl-pseudotropeine an alkaloid obtained from Java coca leaves; a local anesthetic, but much less strongly mydriatic than cocaine; used in the form of t. hydrochloride, for intraspinal anesthesia and in ophthalmology and dentistry in 3 to 10 per cent. solutions.
