FERREIN, CANAL OF

-
A triangular channel, which Ferrein supposed to result from the approximation of the free edges of the eyelids applied to the globe of the eye; and which he considered adapted for directing the tears towards the puncta lacrymalia, during sleep. The canal is, probably, imaginary. The same name is likewise given to the cortical canals,- the first portions of the uriniferous ducts, whilst still in the cortical substance of the kidney.
