An American clergyman; born in Brooklyn, N. Y., in 1843; died in Bloomfield, N. J., May 12, 1887. Under the pen-name of "Anselmus" he contributed to the Evangelist. His publications, in part, are: "The Heavenly Land", from the "De Contemptu Mundi" of Bernad de Morlaix (1868); "Warp and Woof" (1870); "English Hymns, their Authors and History" (1886); and "Latin Hymn-Writers" (1887).
