It consists of one or more small fasciculi or fleshy, thin, somewhat irregular fibres, situated behind the ear. These are attached to the mastoid process, and pass horizontally forwards, to terminate at the convexity formed by the concha of the ear. If this muscle had any use, it would carry the ear backwards.
