The common mussel, moule. A bivalve, the flesh of which when at all in a state of decomposition, is highly poisonous. When fresh, it is an agreeable, but nut not very digestible article of diet, producing, in some persons, all the symptoms of urticaria. One affected with such phenomeua is said, occasionally, to be musselled.
