An American prose and verse writer; born in New York city, March 26, 1822; died there, Jan. 24, 1875. Among his published works are a volume of poems (1869). In collaboration with G. P. R. James he wrote "Adrian; or the Clouds of the Mind" (1852), and "Memoirs of Many Men and Some Women" (1874).
