A Hungarian dramatist and poet; born in Szegszard, Oct. 10, 1812; died at Buda-Pesth, Nov. 5, 1853. His work was inspired by the German drama; as shown in "Arbocz", his best-known historical composition. The poems "The Skirmisher", "Bosnyak Zsofia", and "Arpadok", and a volume of historical ballads, have received warm praise from the best European critics.
