A Roumanian poet, son of Konstantin; born in Jassy, Jan. 11, 1843. He is a member of the Roumanian Academy, and founder of the periodical Convorbiri Literare. His volumes of "Poems", and "Copies from Nature", the latter made up of sketches and tales, have been widely read.
