a Greek of Cephalonia, asserted that in 1592, sailing in the Spanish service on the northwest coast of America, he had sailed into a strait in latitude 47 or 48, which led into the Atlantic Ocean. It has been thought that this was the strait now called by his name, but his narrative is disbelieved by good judges.
