Ophthalmic muscle permitting accomodation.

-
The part of the orbicularis palpebrarum in the vicinity of the ciliary margin. Also, the greyish, semi-transparent structure behind the ciliary ligament and covering the outside of the ciliary body. By its contraction the ciliary processes, and with them the lens, must be drawn towards the cornea. It appears to be the same muscle as the Tensor choro'ideae, Pro'trahens lentis, or choroid muscle of some anatomists.
