In Mohammedan myth. the lotus-tree which stands on the right side of the invisible throne of Allah. Each seed of its fruit contains a houri, and two rivers issue from its roots. In numerable birds carol in its branches, which exceed in width the distance between heaven and earth, and numberless angels rest in their shade.
