A Spanish historian and statesman; born in Sardinia; died in Madrid, 1726. He served the King of Spain with less disinterestedness than distinction during the revolt of his native isle, and was ennobled after writing a very rhetorical "History of the Kingdom of the Jews", as well as "Memoirs for a History of Philip V"., the latter work covering the period between 1699 and 1725.
