A salt of an acid, HBrO, called Hypobromous acid. H. test for urea, a test in which extemporaneously prepared h. of sodium is used to decompose the urea. Gaseous nitrogen is evolved in the proportion of two atoms to each molecule of urea, and, being collected in a receiver, is measured.
