Beaked Hazel. An indigenous shrub, Nat. Ord. Amentaceae; Sub-order, Cupuliferae: Sex Syst. Monoecia Polyandria; the nut of which is surrounded by a coriaceous and sealy involucre, terminating in a tube covered with short and thick bristles. These bristles have been given as an anthelmintic in the same cases and doses as mucuna.
