An American dramatist, and proprietor of Daly's Theatre, New York; born in Plymouth, N. C., July 20, 1838; died in Paris, June 7, 1899. Among his plays are: "Divorce"; "Pique"; "Horizon"; "Under the Gaslight"; and a story called "Peg Woffington, a Tribute to the Actress and the Woman".
