An American writer and translator; born in Montreal, Canada, 1856. She has written much for the Roman Catholic press, has translated poems and tales from the French and Italian, and published: "Ethel Hamilton, and Other Tales" (1877); "The King's Page" (1877); "Seven Years and Mair" (1878); "Women of Catholicity" (1885); "The Silent Woman of Alood" (1887); and a compilation, "Gems of Catholic Thought" (1882).
