Members of the Convent of the Port Royal des Champs. The house was suppressed by Louis XIV. as a stronghold of the Jansenists. Among the distinguished men connected with it are Pascal, Arnauld, and Tillemont. The school-books published by the Port Royalists long maintained their reputation.
