(1746-1807), was a pastor at Woodstock, VA., from 1772 to 1775· He enlisted in the National army as a colonel in 1775. He won distinction at Charleston, Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, Stony Point and Yorktown. He represented Pennsylvania in the U.S. Congress from 1789 to 1791, 1793 to 1795 and from 1799 to 1801.
