Ground-maple, Cliff-weed, Split-rock. Ord. Saxifragaceae. The root -Heuchera (Ph. U, S.)-is a powerful astringent, and is the basis of a cancer powder. The American Indians apply the powdered root to wounds, ulcers, and cancers. It is said to have been sold for colchicum.
