(BT) The largest telecommunications provider in theUK.Due to regulatory issues, BT had to sell off its interest inMcCaw Cellular. BT sold it to AT&T for something like 4B$.BT then invested that in MCI. As a part of the deal, MCIwas given BT North America, which was the old Tymnet. MCIlaid off about 40% of the Tymnet staff.
