An English poet; born in Leamington, 1857. She has attained great proficiency in Greek studies, her verse showing the influence of Hellenic literature. In 1888 she married James Darmesteter, the Orientalist. Her writings include: "A Handful of Honeysuckle" (1878); "An Italian Garden" (1886); "Lyrics" (1891); "Retrospect" (1893); "Life of Renan" (1897); "The Queen of Navarre" (1900); "The Return to Nature" (1904).
