An American poet and prose-writer; born in Middletown, Conn., about 1841. Her poem "Little Martin Craghan" was very popular. Among her well-known works are: "Can the Old Love?\" (1871); "Meg, a Pastoral"; and other poems, 1879; "Zophiel, or the Bride of Seven".
