is the union of the inner extremity of the clavicle with a round facette at each side of the superior extremity of the sternum. In this articulation there are, besides the incrusting cartilages, two radiated sterno-clavicular, (F.) Sterno-claviculaires rayonnees; one anterior, and one posterior -an inter-clavicular ligament extending between the two clavicles, and two synovial capsules, separated by an inter-articular fibro-cartilage. The costo-clavicular ligament may also be considered to belong to this articulation.
