A glucoside, C22H21O10, from scoparius, occurring in yellow, tasteless, and odorless crystals; diuretic in doses of gr. 5-10 (0.3-0.6).
A bitter neutral principle (C20H20O10+5H2O), obtained from the tops of Cytisus scop arms. It causes diuresis, probably through its action on the renal epithelium. [Lat.]
