An American writer of prose and verse; born in Pompey, N. Y., Sept. 23, 1823. She was favorably known as an editor and contributor. "Ariadne" is one of her best poems. She published: "Greenwood Leaves" (1850); "Poems" (1851); "Merrie England" (1855); "Records of Five Years" (1868); and "New Life in New Lands" (1873). Died April 20, 1904.
