Orthohydroxybenzaldehyd, a substance, C6[H,OH,CHO,H,- H,H,], obtained from the juice of various plants of the genus Spirea, from the larvae of Chrysomelon populi, and in other ways, and occurring as an aromatic liquid of spicy and burning taste. It is said to be antiseptic.
