An English theologian; born at Barton-upon-Humber, Feb. 22, 1781; died in London, Jan 8, 1833. His principal works are: "Theological Institutes" (6 parts, 1823-28); "The Life of Rev. John Wesley" (1831); "A Biblical and Theological Dictionary" (1831); "An Exposition of the Gospels of Matthew and Mark" (1833).
