Mountain May-apple, Mandrake, Wild Lemon, Ducksfoot, Raccoon Berry, Yellow Berry, Ground Lemon, has the same properties.
American May apple. Its active purgative properties exist in its resin (see podophyllin). It resembles jalap in its action, but is more drastic and slower. It is used as a general cathartic and as a cholagogue.
