A French dramatist; born at Paris, 1755; died 1832. Among his very numerous dramatic pieces were: "Aristotle in Love", vaudeville (1780); "Summer Loves" (1781); "Two Sedan-Chairmen" (1781); "Marriage in Extremis" (1782), a comedy in one act. His miscellaneous writings included: "Carlo-Robertiad" (1784), a satire on ballooning; "Easter Eggs for my Critics" (1786).
