Eldest grandson of Louis Philippe, king of the French, born in Paris in 1838, became an aide-de-camp to General McClellan in 1861. He returned to England in 1862. He has published several volumes of a " Histoire de la Guerre Civile en Amerique," which is to be completed in eight volumes. He has since been noted because of his claims to the French throne.
