[Greek] Intellectual (or reasoning) monomania; a primary chronic form of insanity, occurring especially in degenerates, and marked by hallucinations and delusions which are systematized, i. e., exhibit a logical connection and sequence, so that the patient from his perverted ideas, in which he firmly believes, draws logical and coherent inferences. Hence, Paranoiac, one affected with p.; a reasoning monomaniac.
