Trade name of a compound of albumin and the bile acids from oxgall; recommended as a stimulant of bile-secretion in doses of gr. 8 (0.5).
Syn.: albumen cholicum. A proprietary preparation consisting of albumen combined with bile acids. It is said to pass the stomach practically unchanged. Its actions and uses are similar to those of bile salts.
