Two p's, called respectively the first (or anterior) nodal p. and the second (or posterior) nodal p., situated on the optical axis of a dioptric system, and so related that every incident ray which is directed toward the first p. is represented after refraction by a ray emanating from the second p. and having a direction parallel to that of the incident ray.
