An American descriptive and story writer, wife of General Lewis Wallace; born at Crawfordsville, Ind., 1830. Besides contributing to periodicals and reviews, she has published: "The Storied Sea" (1883); "Ginevra" (1886); "The Land of the Pueblos" (1888); "The Repose in Egypt" (1888); etc. She died in 1907.
