A Mexican poet; born in Zamora, Mechoacan, June 18, 1768; died in Tlalpujahua, July 17, 1809. His principal work is "Poem on the Divine Providence" (1808). Before his death he burned his manuscripts. The few which escaped destruction were published under the title of "Poetical Entertainments" (Mexico, 1823; Paris, 1825).
