An Italian classical scholar and critic; born about 1407; died Aug. 1, 1457. Among his writings are: "Elegancies of the Latin Language" (1471); "Of Pleasure"; a tractate "Against the Donation of Constantine", alluding to the fabled concession of the district of Rome to the popes.
