A portion of the mento-labial of Chaussier. A small muscle situate before the symphysis menti. It is thick, conical; and attached by its apex to a fossette at the side of the symphysis in the inferior maxillary bone. Its fibres proceed diverging and vanishing in the manner of a tuft. (F.) Houppe, on the skin of the chin. This muscle raises the chin, and pushes upwards the lower lip.
