(1802-1877), was a member of the Maine Legislature from 1829 to 1833. He was Governor of Maine in 1838 and 1840, being chosen by the Whigs. From 1849 to 1853 he was U. S. Consul at Rio Janeiro. From 1859 to 1873 he was a Justice of the Maine Supreme Court.
