An English satirist and verse-writer; born at Ditchley, Oxfordshire, April 10, 1648; died July 26, 1648; He became a favorite at the court of Charles II., and wrote songs and satires in accordance with prevailing taste. His "Poems and Familiar Letters" were posthumously published.
